Department access explained
Your access to client information depends on which departments you're assigned to. If you're an OT therapist working with a client who also gets SLT services, Metanoa automatically gives you the right level of access to both departments.
Let's understand department-based access
Here's how Metanoa manages your access to client information across departments.
Department access is all about making sure you can see the information you need while keeping client data organized. When you're added as a staff member, you get assigned to one or more departments like OT, SLT, Psychology, or Behavior Therapy. Clients also receive services from one or more departments.
Here's a practical example. Let's say you're Therapist A working in OT, and your colleague is Therapist B working in SLT. You have a client who receives services from both OT and SLT. Here's how your access works:
Your access as Therapist A:
- Full Edit access to the client's OT department information because that's your assigned department
- View Only access to the client's SLT department information through what we call access via association
Your colleague's access as Therapist B:
- Full Edit access to the client's SLT department information because that's their assigned department
- View Only access to the client's OT department information through access via association
This setup enables both therapists to see the full picture of the client's care while being able to edit the information in your own department.
