Troubleshooting the Calendar

Most calendar issues come down to one of a few common situations, so here's what to check when something doesn't look right.

Common Issues

Why can't I see certain sessions?

Your role determines which sessions appear on your calendar. Some roles only show sessions from departments you're assigned to, while others show sessions across all departments. If you're missing sessions you expected to see, check with your Admin to confirm your role and department assignments.

Why is the Schedule Session button missing?

The Schedule Session button only appears if your role includes permission to create sessions. If you don't see it, you likely have view-only access to the calendar, so reach out to your Admin if you think that needs to change.

Why can't I edit a session I can see?

There are two reasons this happens. First, the session might be in a department you're not assigned to, which means you can view it but not change it. Second, the session might be signed or cancelled, both of which lock the session permanently. If you open the session and see a Close button instead of Update Session, it's in a final state and can't be edited by anyone.

Why is the Actions dropdown not showing up?

The Actions dropdown only appears on sessions that are in the Scheduled status. Signed and cancelled sessions are finalized, so the dropdown doesn't appear for them.

Why am I seeing a "Client is not assigned to this department" message?

This means the client hasn't been linked to the department you've selected. Go to the client's profile, assign them to that department, and then come back to book the session.

The calendar is showing sessions that don't look real. What's going on?

If Metanoa loses connection to the internet while loading, it may show sample data as a placeholder. Once your connection is restored, refresh the page and your real sessions should come back.

Why don't I see updates another team member just made?

The calendar refreshes automatically when you make a change, but if someone else on your team updates a session you might need to refresh the page or navigate away and back to see their changes.
